Our Core Values

At FCC we are on mission to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ.  We have values that drive us:

1: We’re after life change.  We want people to take steps in their spiritual relationships with Jesus.  We believe nobody has ever spiritually arrived, and there’s always the next step to get closer to God.  We want people to take that next step.

2: We value excellence.  If we do it, it has to be our absolute best.  This doesn’t mean perfection.  It means honoring the God who gave us His best.

3: We believe church is not a spectator sport.  We want every believer to ask themselves, “Who am I?  What tools has God given me and how can I use them for God?”

4: Spiritual growth encompasses your whole life, not just what happens on Sunday.  If you’re not becoming a better spouse, a better parent, a better employee, a better friend, or, in general, a more loving person, you’re doing it wrong.

5:  We don’t want to burn out, and we don’t want to rust out.  We believe God gives clear direction to each of us, so we should be led by the Holy Spirit.  What has God asked you to do?  What has God tasked you to do?  Ok.  Now go do that!

6:  We believe that people matter to God.  So we have a heart for the lost because God has a heart for the lost.

7:  In order to reach people no one else is reaching, we’re going to have to do things no one else is doing.  So we’ll have to be on the cutting edge, and we’ll have to take risks.  This will make some people uncomfortable.  We don’t care.

8:  We are culturally diverse.  If you’re breathing, you’re welcome here.

9: We believe that “we” is greater than “me.”  What we become together trumps what any of us could aspire to be alone.

10:  We will be contributors, not consumers.  As a church, as a group, as a family, we will come together to sacrifice for this vision.  We will give, and then we’ll give some more, and then we’ll give some more, and some more, because that’s what Jesus did for us…

And it’s the least that we can do.
